This Art Nouveau style Butterfly is believed to be once part of an elaborate hair comb piece made in November 1900 by renowned French jewellery house, Boucheron – the original state was discovered when the same Butterfly image was realized among the archives held by Boucheron.

How the Butterfly made its way to Elizabeth Taylor's Jewellery Collection is still not known. However, this Art Nouveau Butterfly is believed to be known one of only four existences in private collection.

We have more than 1,000 Art Nouveau Art Works and this Butterfly is the most sought after piece in our collection.

<Special note>
This Butterfly will be exhibited at the Biennale in Grand Palais from 14th September 2012 to 23rd of September as Boucheron Masterpiece of Art and will follow with more than a yearlong exhibition at an Art Museum in France.

This item could be said to be one of the more unique variety not only because it was held by the world famous actress Elizabeth Taylor but also because it is the only jewellery of Art Nouveau style among her collection.
